Rising Christmas costs and economic uncertainty are forcing technology gifts off the Christmas present shopping lists, according to the latest figures from TolunaQuick.
Nearly 60% of Britons say they will not be buying any technology gifts this Christmas.
Laptop computers and Apple iPads will be the leading gadget gifts. Games consoles are not so hot although the Wii comes out top. This could be down to a well saturated games market of course but across the board the indication is that expensive technology items are not on the shopping list.
Of all the technology brands listed, Apple continues to be a leading light in the technology world with over 35% of consumers identifying it as the most desirable brand. Technology stalwarts Sony and Samsung trail behind on 14.08% and 11% respectively.
A gadget-less Christmas will likely lead to a bigger than expected January sales blitz.
